Santa Claus is comin’ to town

by Nevok on Nov.20, 2008, under Next Exit: US of A

Ok….today we drove into Miami…or rather into Miami Beach as we learned today. Apparently, those are two different cities. The things you learn…and people say that the US has no history. Hah!

Welcome to Miami - Bienvenido a Miami

Back on American soil. Getting here was…different. Definitely saw a more of water in a coastal region than before..and I have to admit that flying over the Everglades and then seeing tons of palms lining the streets from above was…odd. The only palms I have ever seen were in botanical gardens. So..these are…’wild’ palms then. Wonder if they are tame or drop coconuts on unsuspecting strangers.

“A More Perfect Union”

Because many of us grow up to find that do as we might, we maybe fall into the same patterns as our parents, we do more and more take the roads more often traveled for sake of convenience, peer pressure, heck, for whatever reason making life just a bit more comfortable, more endurable or, yes, more enjoyable.

Which is fine and dandy I guess…until we arrive at a time and place where our decisions impact others. Not necessarily others directly around us, but more often than not others who are still to come.
