When we can’t do long tours (like our USA trips for example), we try to do small field trips, mostly exploring the area we live in. It’s a bit embarassing, but most tourists know more about the part of Germany we live in than we do. We try to remedy that fact….

In 1975 the Archaeologischer Park Xanten (Archaeological Park Xanten), a partial reconstruction of the Roman Colonia Ulpia Traiana, was established and opened for tourism. It is built on the site of the Roman town. Today it is one of the most frequently visited parks in Germany.

9th US Car Meeting @Oberhausen
Lots, and lots, and lots of nice US cars, quite a few of them I wouldn't mind owning myself...

Yes, we do have a Football team. Even though we are smack dab in the middle of soccer country. They had some problems in their past and had to start over two years ago, going down from Second Divison to..well, the bottom of the league system (taxes weren't filed properly or something).
The cool thing: most of the team stayed. So ever since, they advance to the next higher league each year and outscore their opponents most of the times by 7 or 8 TDs. This last game? They won 77:06, 57 of those points were scored in the first half... 'nuff said
